Uptown. Downtown. Down-sizing or Up-scaling. City living in Charlotte has never been so attractive. Condo life is the new paradigm for city dwellers and with the building boom of the last half decade, it's easy to see why so many people are thinking outside the traditional "suburban box" and choosing amenities and convenience over square footage and commutes.

At Absolute Audio we have been challenged to think differently as well about what technology and entertainment options make sense for our clients who are living in spaces with functional competition for every square foot. For those of us who call ourselves "Systems Integrators" what could be a better challenge? After working with several of these projects we have come to believe that an integrated home automation/security/ entertainment system is even more critical for these homes. As we approach each project with an open mind and an open eye toward new ideas and product innovations we realize that, more than ever, our systems will be critical for the comfort, convenience and life-style choices our clients are making.

These two stunning urban spaces provide an excellent
example of the blending of form and function in technology and entertainment applications.

Featured Components:

Kitchen:  Luce 15" Flatscreen Monitor w/built-in TV tuner.  Stereo speakers included (not pictured).  Luce flip-up mounting bracket.

Living Room:  Panasonic 42" High Definition Plasma Monitor; Samsung HDTV DirecTV Decoder/Receiver; NAD T532 DVD Player w/Progressive Scan (not shown); Bang & Olufsen Beosystem1.

Top: the highly polished look of this kitchen is complimented by the multi-use LCD flatscreen monitor. With a wireless keyboard and wireless internet connection it's as"space saving" as any other under the counter appliance and it's a great HDTV monitor as well. The designer in this home was particularly attracted to the monitor's high-quality brushed aluminum exterior - a lesser quality plastic case just wouldn't fit in with the other top-of-the-line amenities in this kitchen.

Left: there was one thing this homeowner was sure about from the beginning - his music system. You might go so far as to say that the entire living space was designed around the entertainment system. In this case the contemporary design of the components, including the flat-screen plasma television, and speakers fit right in and become an integral part of the décor. A single touch screen remote controls virtually every aspect of the home's technology. Because this owner got us involved early in the process, we were able to work with the "designated" low-voltage contractor to add in the special features that were needed to accommodate his dream system.
